# Savayava Krishika Grahaka Balaga ® Mangaluru (Organic Farmer Consumer Forum) and Chaithanya Vidyalaya, Rishikshetra, Kudlu, Kasaragod jointly organised a Programme on Kitchen Gardening.

# It was held for the parents of students on 5/11/25 at the school auditorium.

# A 30 member team led by Mr. G.R. Prasad, president of the forum, visited Chaithanya Vidyalaya.

# Forum members had the privilege to attend the school’s morning assembly which combined traditional values with modern education.

# Mr. Prasad, while addressing the students, stressed on the need for poison-free water, air, and food, as well as nutritious food consumption and a kitchen garden for a healthy life.

# The conduct of the students and teachers was very impressive.

# The team members then visited the famous Madhur temple.

# The Programme on Kitchen Gardening was held in the afternoon. School Administrator Mr. Ramesh, Manager Mr. Nagesh, Forum Secretary Mr. Ratnakar Kulai, School Principal Mrs. Pushpalata and Kindergarten Headmistress Mrs. Rupa graced the occasion. Mrs.Saroja Prakasha and Mrs. Sneha Ravish were the resource persons for the programme.

# Mr. Ratnakar Kulai talked about organic farming, the importance of food and health while addressing the audience.

# Mrs. Saroja Prakasha gave detailed information on growing leafy greens and vegetables around our home organically.

# Mrs. Sneha Ravish explained about growing ornamental plants in and around our house.

# The forum members donated 10 fruit saplings and 1000 nutritious laddus to the school. The school and the forum joined hands in planting those saplings as well.

# The contribution of forum members Mrs. Jayashree, Mr. Dayanand (and his family) in organising this successful programme is highly appreciated.

# The members were satisfied with the successful completion of two of their activities : Programme on Kitchen Gardening (Kaithota Kranthi) and connecting Kasaragod to Karnataka through organic farming (Karnataka and Kasaragod Savayava Setubandha). They returned home with seeds and saplings to grow in their own kitchen gardens thus practising what they preach.
